How accurate is GPS attendance?
TaskLens uses device GPS with backup from cell tower triangulation.
Accuracy is typically within 10-20 meters for most locations. In
areas with poor GPS (deep indoors, underground), we fall back to
network-based location for verification purposes.
Can employees spoof their location?
Spoofing is nearly impossible with native GPS coordinates from
the device. Our system also validates against network signals
and cell location data. Any anomalies trigger flags for manual
review.
What if GPS is turned off on the device?
The app will request GPS permission before check-in. If GPS is
disabled, employees will be prompted to enable it. Without GPS,
check-in cannot proceed — ensuring location verification is
always active.
How is attendance data stored and protected?
All attendance records — GPS coordinates, timestamps, and
location data — are encrypted and stored on secure servers. Data
is accessible only to authorized HR and managers. We comply with
data privacy regulations.
Can I export attendance for payroll?
Yes. Attendance logs with check-in/check-out times, working
hours, and GPS verification status can be exported as CSV or
PDF. The data includes all fields needed for payroll processing.
What happens if an employee forgets to check out?
Managers can manually close the shift from the dashboard with a
note. The system will calculate working hours and flag any
anomalies. The attendance record remains verified by the GPS
check-in.
